Aytre Beach We were amazed to see the lifeguards putting out the flags at low tide when hide tide was not due for another six hours.
Cathedral in La Rochelle Old Town Organ music in the cathedral
Bike ride to the old port La Rochelle's main feature is the "Vieux Port" ("Old Harbour"), which is at the heart of the city, picturesque and lined with seafood restaurants. The city walls are open to an evening promenade. The old town has been well-preserved.
Le Tour de Chez Nous Temporaire a La Rochelle Merryn takes on on the guided tour of the house.
Fish Feeding Frenzy .. Merryn's View Here it is again from Merryn's camera
KL Central Market Fish Spa Inside the market is a little stall that looks like a swimming pool sales shop. There is a spa pool teeming with thousands of small fish. The idea is to swing your feet in and hordes of the fish eat away at the dead skin on your feet and legs in a feeding frenzy. Almost unbearably ticklish and great fun.
A Fun Dinner Followed by a 4km Night Sled Ride The gang had a terrifying minicab ride up the mountain to a rowdy restaurant, a fun dinner, then rode toboggans down a 4km sled run, lit by the occasional "street" lamp.

Kermit throwing It may not be obvious but there is a lot of frog throwing happening here..... translated from Dutch I think it's "Kermit throwing up ??".
Carnivale atmosphere The brass bands play on & on. Now into their 5th day......
Carnivale Bands warming up The bands warm up before the parade, requires some lubrication. There's a healthy rivalry and lots of fun.
Mona Lisa .. Still attracting admirers after all these years A huge crowd gathered to get a glimpse of the Mona Lisa. So far away she is not much more than a spot behind 12 inches of bomb proof glass.
Stuck on Traffic Island in The Avenue des Champs Elysees We're stuck in the middle of Champs Elysees. Zebra crossings are pedestrian concentration kill zones here. The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the most prestigious avenue in Paris. With its cinemas, cafés, and luxury specialty shops, it is one of the most famous streets in the world, and with rents as high as $1.50 million for 100 square meters of space, it is the most expensive strip of real estate in Europe.
Arc de Triomphe Traffic Insane traffic. There aren’t any lanes, there’s just pure chaos. I think a dozen laps here would be fun.
Ice Skating in Central Paris Very inviting but in the end (get it?) we decided not to walk around for the rest of the day with wet bums, especially with long-johns on!

Pizza Restaurant in Montmartre Dinner at 4 for 2
Sacre Coeur Forecourt .. Montmartre The Sacré-Coeur basilica is a well-known Paris symbol, standing 129 metres above sea level on the Monmartre hill. There is an excellent view of Paris from the forecourt of the basilica.
Sacre Coeur Cathedral .. Montmartre The style is Romano-byzantine, inspired by the Roman architecture of churches in the south of France. Stained-glass windows were installed between 1903 and 1920, but were destroyed during the bombing of 1944 and new windows were installed in 1946. Construction began in 1877 and the basilica was inaugurated finally in 1919.
Rotterdam Block Houses The original idea of these cubic houses came about in the 1970s. Piet Blom has developed a couple of these cubic houses that were built in Helmond. The city of Rotterdam asked him to design housing on top of a pedestrian bridge and he decided to use the cubic houses idea. The concept behind these houses is that he tries to create a forest by each cube representing an abstract tree; therefore the whole village becomes a forest.
